Michael Michie currently in M Oriental Bank limited as the Chief Information Security Officer started his career in the IT industry in early 2014 after completing his BSc. IT Michael is currently working on completing his CISSP. He has quickly risen through the ranks in the organization starting as an intern to Head of Information Technology before becoming CISO in June of 2018. Stelios Papadakis is currently Chief Operating Officer (COO) for BancABC Mozambique. Before that, he has held several senior positions across the banking industry in Mozambique, having been Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Banco Terra Mozambique (BTM), Head Retail Network Operations, Customer Service and Digital Banking for Barclays Bank Mozambique and Head of IT also for Barclays Bank Mozambique. Before joining the banking industry, he worked for the Strategy and Policy Unit of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Geneva, Switzerland and before that, he was Senior Telecommunication Policy Advisor at the Ministry of Transport and Communications in Maputo, Mozambique, as well as a part-time lecturer at various Universities in Mozambique. Stelios is also the winner of the 2007 edition of the ITU Young Minds in Telecom competition, a worldwide competition run by the International Telecommunication Union. He Holds an MSc. in Public Policies for Science, Technology and Innovation from University of Sussex, United Kingdom, a bachelor degree in Electronics

Mr. Taiwo Adesina Joda is the Managing Director/CEO of Accion Microfinance Bank. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Finance and Banking from the University of Lagos and a Masters’ degree in Finance and Banking from the same university. He is an Alumnu of Said Business School–Oxford University. Mr. Joda is a senior member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (HCIB) and a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management (MNIM). He has attended several top management programs both locally and internationally including – Africa Board Fellowship Programme in SA, Lagos Business School, Nigeria, INSEAD, France and Euro money both in UK and Singapore.
Mr. Joda has over (25) twenty-five years’ experience in Bank and Non- Bank Financial Institutions spread over (5) five institutions with core competences in corporate finance, corporate banking, branch banking, retail banking and key customer management.
Institutions he worked prior to joining Accion MFB include: Arbitrage Finance and Investment Company LTD, Kenneth Michael & company Nig. LTD, FSB International, International Trust Bank, Equatorial Trust Bank, Diamond Bank and Fidelity Bank plc. His remarkable performance on the job earned him appointments into critical and strategic committees and several awards in the institutions he had previously worked. He has excellent leadership skills and continually mentors young professionals.
Mr. Joda was appointed the MD/CEO of Accion Microfinance Bank on August 1 st 2017 but assumed full responsibility as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer on January 2 nd 2018.
I am an Enterprise Architect with over 10 year’s experience, having worked or consulted for South African Financial Services Companies; Standard Bank Group, Discovery Health, Nedbank, Seconded by Deloitte to Barclays Bank Africa and now currently at Old Mutual Limited.
My areas of interest and specialization span across Data & Enterprise Architecture, Advanced Analytics, Digital Innovation and Strategy.
In the past five years I have been part of a core team in various Multi-Billion Rand Enterprise Transformation and Innovation Programs; Barclays Bank Africa’s Shared Enterprise Services Program, Multichoice Group’s Evolution Program and now Old Mutual Ltd.’s South Africa Transformation Program, amongst other initiatives to support the organization IT & Digital Strategies.
My qualifications include a Post Grad in Management from the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business, a Global MBA from IE Business School in Spain and currently completing a Post Graduate Research Degree in Digital Innovation and e-commerce at the London School of Economics and Political Sciences (LSE).
In January 2019 I completed the ‘Doing Business in China’ program at The University of Fudan School of Management, in Shanghai – China.
Kokila is the founder of KARM Legal and has 15 years of experience as a corporate/Commercial and technology lawyer in UAE. an ardent Fintech/Technology Lawyer. One of the very few lawyers in the region to have an in-depth knowledge of the synergies of technology, law and policy- Kokila has worked with major corporations, government and semi-government bodies, high net worth individuals over the years. Kokila’s Masters in Law, in Digital Economy from the Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, and the recent certification of Oxford Blockchain Strategy Programme from Oxford University, UK has helped her develop an in-depth understanding of digital economy and Blockchain.
Kumaran Selvarajalu is head of payments for the Banking Association South Africa. In this capacity he enables the strategic objectives of the South African banking sector in the diverse and fast-changing payments environment. He is passionate about the merger between physical and digital systems across all levels of society, and the potential upliftment of people’s lives this can bring.
Prior to joining the Banking Association South Africa, Kumaran consulted on payments and digital innovation. This was after a 20 year career at FirstRand Bank Limited where over the years he held a number of group positions related to payments, strategy, regulatory risk and business impact management. He officially represented the bank on a number of the key interbank projects and negotiations and was the bank’s representative on the council of the Payments Association of South Africa.
Kennedy is the Africa Region Head of SC Ventures, Standard Chartered’s innovation, ventures and fintech investment unit. He runs the Bank’s eXellerator Lab in Nairobi, creating a platform to nurture our strong intrapreneurial / entrepreneurial and partnership culture in the Africa region, working closely with a range of stakeholders in our African markets to identify problems to solve and partner with fintechs, clients and regulators to create value propositions that are relevant for our markets.
A Managing Director at Standard Chartered, he was previously the Head of Transaction Banking for Kenya and East Africa region. Prior to that he covered Ghana and West Africa in the same capacity.
Before joining Standard Chartered Bank, he worked in various senior leadership roles at Citibank, including Transaction Bank Head for CEMAC zone countries including DR Congo based out of Cameroon, General Manager Operations and Technology in Zambia, Financial Controller and Chief of Staff (Risk Administration and Human Resources) in Tanzania. During this period, he also served as Executive Director on the subsidiary Boards of Citibank in both Tanzania and Zambia where he chaired the Operational Risk subcommittee of the main board for several years.
Kennedy is a UK Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA).
Stephane Nappo is Global Head Information Security for Société Générale International Banking & Financial Services pole since 2011. Present in 67 countries, this pole employs over 75, 000 people and has 30 millions clients distributed within 40 autonomous banks and 90 entities all delivering financial services.
He was senior consultant specializing in IT security as of 1995. His extensive training in telecom, business administration and law, allows him to have a unique approach towards solving technological and business related issues. He worked for over 80 organizations in numerous sectors.
He implements conventional risk management methods with a systemic and pragmatic approach to complex problems. Based in Paris, he operates regularly in Russia, Central Europe and Africa. His current mission targets digital services security, anti-fraud prevention, incident response and information security’s digital transformation.
Lee has been with FNB for over 15 years arriving straight out of University. In his 15 years, he has enjoyed a diverse range of roles and exposure across our complex business. He worked in Credit Card, Forex, Business, Core Lending Products (CLP) and Life Insurance, his roles and responsibilities spanning across Analytics, Credit Sales, Client Value Management (CVM), Product Development, Pricing, IT and Operations. He has been a part of building new businesses, including the first dedicated CVM team in the Bank, Discovery Card, Retail Forex, Core Lending Products, Life and Short-term Insurance. Lee is currently the CEO of Life but also runs Insurance cluster which is currently building our short-term insurance business, supporting our international insurance strategy and running support for the various insurance businesses in the group.
He is known in the group as a visionary thinker, an excellent intrepreneur*, a great innovator and someone who can inspire and lead people to great heights.
Lee has a BSc. Degree in Financial Mathematics from the University of Johannesburg and is a qualified actuary.

Before that, he has held several senior positions across the banking industry in Mozambique, having been Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Banco Terra Mozambique (BTM), Head Retail Network Operations, Customer Service and Digital Banking for Barclays Bank Mozambique and Head of IT also for Barclays Bank Mozambique. Before joining the banking industry, he worked for the Strategy and Policy Unit of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Geneva, Switzerland and before that, he was Senior Telecommunication Policy Advisor at the Ministry of Transport and Communications in Maputo, Mozambique, as well as a part-time lecturer at various Universities in Mozambique. Stelios is also the winner of the 2007 edition of the ITU Young Minds in Telecom competition, a worldwide competition run by the International Telecommunication Union. He Holds a MSc. in Public Policies for Science, Technology and Innovation from University of Sussex, United Kingdom, a bachelor degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering, from Curtin University of Technology, Australia. He is an ISACA Certified Information System Auditor, Certified Information Security Manager, Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT, Certified in Cybersecurity Foundations and COBIT Foundation.
